KEYE TV sponsored the Caleb 5K Run/Walk -- organized by Shoreline Church.
It's been one year since Caleb Koke, 17 and full of life, died when he fell asleep at the wheel driving home. The 5K continues the legacy of Caleb Koke, a bright young man whose life was tragically cut short in a car accident, on July 14, 2009. The race was held July 17 at 15201 Burnet Rd. at 8 a.m.
More than 1,000 runners and walkers alike came out and participated in the 3.2 mile course in hopes of giving back to the community, the way they say Caleb would have wanted it. All proceeds will benefit the Austin Can! Academy and the Caleb House.
